Ghanaian rapper and lyricist M.anifest has released his sixth studio album, *New Road and Guava Trees*, on March 13, 2025. This 14-track project marks a significant milestone in his career, as his first major-label collaboration with Mass Appeal Records, co-founded by hip-hop icon Nas.
The album’s title is inspired by M.anifest’s roots in Madina, Ghana, symbolizing personal growth and fresh beginnings. Spanning nearly two years in production, it was recorded across Accra, Seattle, and Los Angeles, blending hip-hop, Afrobeats, and highlife to showcase his artistic evolution.
*New Road and Guava Trees* features an eclectic mix of collaborations, including Cameroonian singer T’eenya, Nigerian band The Cavemen, Kenyan vocalist Bien of Sauti Sol, Ghanaian sensation King Promise, and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their contributions add depth and diversity to the album’s rich sound.
Lyrically, the album explores personal and social themes, with M.anifest’s signature storytelling and intricate wordplay at the forefront. Tracks like *Eye Red* highlight his unique style, merging offbeat drum patterns with energetic bass tones for a dynamic listening experience.
