Drake has withdrawn his legal petition against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify concerning Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.” In November 2024, Drake alleged that UMG and Spotify artificially boosted the track’s popularity through bots and other means. However, according to documents filed with the New York Supreme Court, this pre-action case has been discontinued without financial costs to any party.
Despite this withdrawal, Drake’s separate legal action against UMG remains active. In this ongoing case, he accuses UMG of making payments to iHeartRadio to promote Lamar’s track, which contains defamatory lyrics about him.
The diss track “Not Like Us” emerged from a feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, featuring severe allegations against Drake. While the initial petition has been resolved, the continuation of the second case indicates that tensions between the artists and their associated parties persist.
