Lzzy Hale, the lead vocalist and guitarist of Halestorm, recently shared an anecdote about ending a relationship after her date fell asleep during a Tool concert. In an interview with Guitar Player magazine, Hale recounted that she had purchased tickets to see Tool at Hershey Park, initially planning to attend with her brother, Arejay. However, when Arejay was unable to go, she invited a date named Nate. During the performance, Hale noticed that Nate had fallen asleep, which she described as a “total deal-breaker.” Reflecting on the experience, she mentioned that her brother still teases her about it, saying, “I wouldn’t have fallen asleep.”
This story highlights Hale’s deep appreciation for live music and her connection to Tool’s album Lateralus, which she had gifted to her brother. She noted that listening to their music was akin to watching a horror film, emphasizing its profound impact on her.
Currently, Halestorm is working on their sixth studio album and has been included among the most anticipated metal and hard rock albums of 2025. Additionally, Hale has embarked on an acoustic tour with Halestorm guitarist Joe Hottinger, titled the “Living Room Sessions,” featuring performances of Halestorm songs and covers.
This personal anecdote offers fans a glimpse into Hale’s life and her passion for music, underscoring the significance she places on shared musical experiences.
