Seyi Vibez’s “Different Pattern” has emerged as the most-streamed song on Apple Music Nigeria in 2024.
Apple Music has released its list of the most-streamed songs in Nigeria for 2024, with the top 20 largely dominated by tracks from 2023. Seyi Vibez’s “Different Pattern,” from his NAHAMciaga EP released in December 2023, claimed the number one spot after enjoying a successful 2024, becoming the most-streamed song on the platform in Nigeria.
Omah Lay’s “Holy Ghost” follows closely at number 2, while “Cast,” the hit collaboration between Shallipopi and rapper Odumodublvck, ranks at number 3.
Kizz Daniel’s chart-topping single “Twe Twe” is the fourth most-streamed song of 2024, and Seyi Vibez lands his second song in the top 5 with “Cana,” which rounds out the top five.
Other notable songs in the top 10 include Wizkid’s “IDK” featuring Zlatan and Chike, as well as Mohbad’s “Egwu.” The “Tshwala Bam” remix featuring Burna Boy makes TitoM & Yuppe the only non-Nigerian lead artists in the top 50.
Of the top 20, 14 songs were released in 2023, with only a few 2024 releases, including Burna Boy’s “Higher,” Ayo Maff & Fireboy DML’s “Dealer,” Ruger & BNXN’s “POE,” and Young Jonn’s “Bahamas.”
Some observers, including music journalist Joey Akan, have pointed out that the dominance of 2023 releases in the upper ranks reflects a challenging year for Nigerian music in 2024.
Notably, there were no female artists in the top 20, with Ayra Starr making the highest entry for a female act, landing at number 24 with her single “Bad Vibes” featuring Seyi Vibez.
