Music executive and entertainment figure Ubi Franklin has set the record straight regarding his role within the DMW team. The CEO of Made Men Music Group recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to address circulating claims that his position involves babysitting Davido’s children or serving as Chioma’s personal assistant.

Ubi felt compelled to clarify his role after a user commented on a post, suggesting that his transition from running a successful record label to becoming “Davido’s wife’s PA” was an interesting shift. The comment came in response to Ubi’s announcement that he was writing a book to share his perspective and address various misconceptions.

The comment read: “You really need to write that book, cos you owe us some explanation on how you moved from owning a thriving record label (if I recall well) to being a PA to Davido’s wife. That was quite some transition, mate.”

Ubi responded directly to the remark, using the moment to correct the misinformation and reaffirm his role. He stated that he is a Business Administrator for the DMW team, with Davido affectionately referring to him as the “Solutionist.”

He explained, “Let me make this clear: Davido is Africa’s biggest artist and the owner of DMW. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but if you look closely, Davido’s setup and brand are ones anyone would be proud to work for. He’s more influential than many governors in some countries, the only difference is he doesn’t have a government budget.”

Ubi continued, “I’m the CEO of @mademenmusicg, and if you see me working with Davido, it’s because I have the qualifications and experience to handle the role of a business administrator. David calls me #thesolutionist—take that however you want. But I am certainly not his PA or a nanny, as some of you have wrongly taunted me with. If that makes you happy, so be it.”
